Original plein air painting | 8×6” | oil on paper | mounted on panel
King’s Canyon, California
This was painted on my first solo backpacking trek. Although I’ve been a backpacker frequenting this area for over a decade, I hadn’t carried oil paint into Kearsarge until this trip.
I didn’t want to go home! But this was my last morning and I decided to max out with one more painting. It felt wonderful to sacrifice a leisurely trip home for a little more quality sub-alpine time.
