Original plein air painting | 6×8” | oil on panel
Yosemite, California
I’ve been going to Yosemite every year since childhood, but rarely stop at this epic view coming in from Highway 120. But the friend I was with loves to stop, so we did. There is a short path down from the parking lot that provides this lovely scene. I decided it needed to be painted while my friend took a nap on the edge of the cliff. Despite being so close to the parking area, we had the view all to ourselves, the ravens and swifts.
