Original plein air painting | 9×12” | oil on panel
Twain Harte, California
Wild apple trees grow generously around Twain Harte, and in the fall they produce beautiful golden leaves. I loved how the dry grass at the pond and fall leaves popped against the dark green of the forest, but was undecided in finding just the right composition. Finally I came upon a pile of bear poop, so I decided that was the right place to set up (because I LOVE bears!). In case you’re wondering, I never saw the bear.
