Original plein air painting | 9×12” | oil on panel
Pinecrest, California
Every winter Pinecrest Lake is drained by PG&E to provide water downstream and to make room for new spring runoff. One late winter afternoon I walked down onto the exposed lake bed to paint while listening to the cheerful sound of children sledding on the beach. It was a delightful experience to paint a place beloved by so many people.
