Original plein air painting | 9×12” | oil on panel
Emigrant Wilderness, California
My first solo backpack trip was just one splendid night in preparation for a longer King’s Canyon trip. I carried my full painting setup minus the tripod on this little hike. It was luxurious to set up camp and watch the clouds roll by, knowing I didn’t have to head out before dark, and dinner was already planned for after the painting.
